CPS was present at FIG Bilbao - International Engraving Festival

Integrated in the prestigious FIG Bilbao International Engraving Festival, which took place at the Euskalduna Palace in that city from 25 to 28 November 2021, the CPS - Centro Portuguese de Serigraphy was present again, at the event that marked 10 years and had Portugal as a guest country.

 

In the exhibition of the recent and most significant editions of the CPS, there were works by recognized Portuguese artists deserving international recognition, such as José by Guimarães with two screen prints on handmade paper, Bilbao I and Bilbao II, designed especially for the fair, Pedro Calapez, with works from the series “Apanhados” celebrating the look and memory of color, individually intervened by the artist, Cristina Ataíde, versatile painter and sculptor who had notable There is a recent exhibition at the Berardo Museum, Rui Sanches, a unique sculptor with a work of architectural inspiration, also ;m with manual intervention, Maria José Oliveira with the work Conceito Espacial combining screen printing, photography and collage, Leonel Moura, a pioneering artist in robotic art and which presents Nova Amália, a work integrated in the Centenary of the fado singer, Margarida Lourenço, with the work Madrugada Suspensa which has nature as reference and which masterfully combines screen printing, engraving, digital printing and collage and the master engraver Marçal, with works inspired by a poem. ethics of the Cosmos.

 

The particular linocuts of the award-winning Argentinian Juan Sebastián Carnero were also on display, a work by Arq. Siza Vieira author of Paraninfo at the University of the Basque Country, near the fair, the book Diário Nãno Diario by the exponent of Portuguese Surrealism, Cruzeiro Seixas and the book Bestiarius Stebanensis, herald of the Spanish sculptor's Iberian dialogue Andrés Alcántara.

 

In its course, the CPS has already edited more than 600 artists. As a sign of this diversity, works by 45 artists resulting from the CPS Atelier's dynamics of screen printing, engraving, lithography, photography and digital printing were also available on the floor display.

 

In 2020, the CPS celebrated its 35th anniversary with a relevant exhibition at the National Library of Portugal. The participation of CPS in FIG marks this journey as a publisher of Portuguese art, taking its editions to an international context of great prestige. are an unquestionable mark of quality and which represent an essential contribution to the dissemination and promotion of art, whether Portuguese or foreign, among an increasingly larger public vast.
