The current works of João Ribeiro stem from an exhibition held in 2022, with the title “The Sanctity of Water” and aim for interaction with the public, thus evoking the fluidity and versatility of this element. In this regard, António Augusto Joelwho prefaced the exhibition said: “The rigorous and scientific evocation of the water molecule, represented by two atoms of hydrogen and one of oxygen, is lost between the forgotten memory of the structure of the monumental Atomium in Brussels and the omnipresent geometric approximation of squares, circles and triangles ;angles, which integrate the different fragments of each canvas, beginning to evoke the quality of water as a solvent.

The artist gives here continuity to “assumptions of previous series that incorporate the semiotics of water, such as “Tales of Wild Rain” or “Alchemical Maps”.
