Paulo T. Silva

Paulo T. Silva was born in 1970. Lives and works in Lisbon. He graduated in Communication Design from the Instituto Universitário IADE - Creative University (in 1994), did Master in Design and Visual Culture (Typography and Video Art Studies) and is a graduate in Communication Design. PhD student in Art and Design at FBAUP, where he is part of i2ADS.

É specialist professor at IADE, in the Master's Degree in Design and Visual Culture (Typography, Editorial Design and Video Art) and trainer at Restart, in the Graphic Design Course (Typography and Editorial Design module).

Develops independent projects in which he develops his interest in the interdisciplinarity of different areas of the visual arts. His artistic projects are based on the relationship with the specificities of physical spaces in cause, using typography, photography, video, performance and sound as supports, among others.

In 2003, he presented the installation "Reflexão" (Video/Sound), at the Convento dos Cardaes, in Lisbon. In 2005, he participated in the project “Maté Laughter and Memory” with the video “Recolored Time”, as part of the XIII International Art Biennial of Vila Nova de Cerveira, presented in 2006 at the Municipal Gallery of Matosinhos.

Projects such as “Rock Hounding”, 2010, Installation in the East corridor leading to the interior courtyard (central building) of the National Museum of Natural History, Lisbon also stand out. ; “Reinventing the Clear Day”, 2009, Installation within the scope of the Chão Project, on the five floors of the building no. 31 Rua Anchieta, Lisbon; “Border Crossing – 1ª part”, 2007, Installation, Sala do Veado – National Museum of Natural History, Lisbon.
