The Value of Art

230 years of Jerónimo Martins

Three prints signed by the Portuguese Kruella D'Enfer, the Colombian Ledania and the Polish Magda Ćwik were edited at the CPS to celebrate the 230th anniversary of Jerónimo Martins, at the end of 2022, expressing through art the need to value sustainability and the respect for the planet.

The artists were selected taking into account the countries in which Jerónimo Martins is present and, based on the concepts of Climate, Nature and Food, the Jerónimo Martins Group launched the challenge to the three outstanding urban artists: to create a graphic work for our times that honours nature. A work that projected a future of sustainable food in balance with the planet.

A giant mushroom growing from a small planet Earth stands out in the silkscreen of Kruella D'Enfer.

Ledania celebrates nature as the source of everything, the origin of endless colors and shapes.

Magda Ćwik highlights the element of water as the link between all living beings and explores characteristic patterns of Polish folklore.

The project, which gave rise to these three impressive works with meticulous details, dozens of direct colours and months of production, also gave rise to an incredible report entitled Priceless Art in the magazine FEED by Jerónimo Martins, which presents the projects and activities of CPS.
