Cruzeiro Seixas was awarded this Wednesday, October 14th, with the Cultural Merit Medal, at the 35th anniversary exhibition of CPS O Tempo das Imagens III on the National Library of Portugal.

The session took place within the context of the centenary celebrations of the artist's birth and was attended by the Minister of Culture, Graça Fonseca, who was responsible for delivering the distinction.

The Ministry of Culture considers that “the life and work of Cruzeiro Seixas represents an undeniable contribution to Portuguese culture”.

"More than the due public homage that these gestures represent, it is the Portuguese culture that rises when recognizing those who left its  inextinguishable record in it, such as Cruzeiro Seixas", said the Minister of Culture at the time.

The exhibition "O Tempo das Imagens III", which marks the 35th anniversary of CPS, includes a room dedicated to the artist's work in which the screenprint commemorating the 100th anniversary of his birth can be seen.
