Pedro Burgos

Born in Lisbon in 1968, the city where he drew inspiration for his comic book albums: “Airbag” and “À corner”. He has been creating illustrations since the 80s, for publications such as O Independente, Público and the magazine Ícon.

His works were exhibited, for the first time, in 1992, in a collective exhibition, in the context of the BIENAL Young Creators of Mediterranean Europe , in Valencia. Years later, in 1998, he participated in the exhibition Lost in the Ocean, Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d’Angoulême. In 2011, he joined the group of artists presented at Tinta nos Nervos: Banda Desenhada Portuguesa, at the CCB / Museu Berardo, in Lisbon. In 2014: Quadradinhos: sguardi sul fumetto portoghese, Palazzo Bomben / Fondazione Benetton, Treviso Comic Book Festival. And in 2015 Comics zur Lage der Welt, Neurotitan Shop & Gallery, in Berlin.

He also held solo exhibitions, his first show being in 2003, in Cidade em Chamas, at the Salão Lisboa Comics Festival , in Lisbon. Since then he has also exhibited at the Beja Comics Festival, in 2009, he presented "Chronicles of Architecture ", at the Mundo Fantasma gallery, in Porto, in 2013, also presenting it in Lisbon, in the same year, at the Ordem dos Arquitectos gallery and also Le Collectionneur de Briques, La Souris Verte pub, Angoulême, in 2018.

In his artistic career, he also has the publication of his drawings and works in several editions, such as the À Esquina, text by João Paulo Cotrim, by Campo das Letras, in 2003, Airbag and Other Histories, published by Mundo Fantasma / Bedeteca de Lisboa, in the same year and which was also published  ;by MalEdizioni, Brescia, Italy, already in 2013. He also edited Crónicas de Arquitectura, published by Turbina / Mundo Fantasma, in Porto, in 2013 and Le Collectionneur de Briques, by 6 Pieds Sous Terre, in France, now. in 2017.
