Filipe Amaral

Born in 1962, in Vila de Arraiolos. É He has a degree from the Faculty of Human Motricity and a degree in Painting from Ar.Co. In addition, he studied engraving at the Portuguese Engravers Cooperative and studied tile manufacturing techniques at the National Tile Museum.

His CV includes numerous solo exhibitions and participation in group shows in cities such as London, Lisbon, New York and São Paulo.

In 2019, he coordinated and inaugurated the “First Portuguese School Museum of Contemporary Art” - Ferreira de Castro School Group.

Filipe Amaral has created using various media: painting, sculpture and engraving, not only with the usual materials, as well as more unusual and/or innovative ones. Turn to the abstract language, namely line, and the use of color and light.
