CPS at FIG Bilbao - International Engraving Festival

The event takes place between November 24th and 27th and is expected to attract more than 10 thousand visitors

Integrated in the prestigious FIG Bilbao International Engraving Festival, which takes place at the Euskalduna Palace in that city from 24 to 27 November 2022, theCPS - Centro Português de Serigrafia is present again, at the 11th; edition of the event which is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors.

 

The CPS presents its most significant recent editions, including those that are part of the exhibition MUJERES SARAMAGUIANAS, an initiative of the Embassy of Portugal in Madrid that prominently celebrates the Saramago centenary.

The event features works by different artists, Portuguese and foreign, with a justified international reputation. Pedro Calapez, works from the new series “The Dream of Faust”, two silkscreens individually intervened by the artist. Francisco Vidal, his “Series 44”, where he also intervened with painting each screenprint test. José by Guimarães, screen prints on handmade paper, “Bilbao Series”, designed especially for the Festival. Margarida Lourenço,with a new work that masterfully combines screen printing, engraving, digital printing and collage. Amélia Soares, a laborious engraving using Japanese paper, proving the mastery of Atelier CPS. Filipe Romão, an exemplary lithograph. Xavier, an engraving resulting from his stay in Lisbon. Juan Escudero, the artist selected in the previous edition of FIG Bilbao for a CPS residency. Mónica Fuster with the fold-out book “Inner Moon”, involving the secular work of two entities from Mallorca.

The CPS also has a space dedicated to works that expand traditional techniques. Matthias Contzen, screen printing and laser cutting. Joana Pitta, laser cutting and printing on film. Regina Frank, screen print resulting from the artist's performance at Atelier CPS and video. Ken Rinaldo, pioneer artist of the Bio Art movement, works designed using Artificial Intelligence.

 

CPS's participation in FIG BILBAO marks a 37-year journey for the Portuguese art publisher, in an international context of great prestige. Its editions are a mark of unquestionable quality and represent an essential contribution to the dissemination and promotion of art, among an increasingly wider audience.
