CPS 35 YEARS EDITION

The Mastery of Drawing

Álvaro Siza Vieira (b. 1933), the most celebrated Portuguese architect today, was born in Porto, where he was born in Porto. Today he works and lives. An artist-architect like Corbusier, he has asserted in his drawing the same virtuosity that he has accustomed us to in his architectural work that he received, without subordinating himself to them, but creating his own and unmistakable style, the influences of great Masters of international modernism such as Adolf Loos, Frank Lloyd Wright and Alvar Aalto.  The Exhibition of 100 drawings by Siza Vieira  at the Tchoban Foundation in Berlin in 2019 marked the centenary of the Bauhaus including some of the project drawings created by the great Portuguese architect for Germany, such as the famous “Bonjour Tristesse” and precisely the design of the unrealized project for the Kulturforum, the theme of the screen printing that we present today, commemorating the 35th anniversary of the CPS, very revealing of the mastery and incomparable talent of the architect.
