Ana Maria

Born in Lisbon in 1959, Ana Maria graduated in Philosophy in Oporto. She has exhibited individually since 1993, and throughout her career has been awarded various prizes, including the Júlio Resende National Painting Prize in 1990, two honourable mentions at the Biennial of Vª Nª de Cerveira in 1991 and 2003, the Amadeu de Souza Cardoso Prize in 2005, an Honourable Mention at the 1st National Painting Exhibition of Coimbra in 1988, and the 3rd National Painting Prize - Boavista Futebol Clube (1992).

She has participated in various collective exhibitions: Árvore 84 - National Exhibition of Small Format, Oporto; S.N.B.A. - Novos Novos (1984); Soares dos Reis National Museum (1986); Árvore Cooperative, Oporto (1987); Festa do Avante - VII Bienal de Artes (1989); EG Gallery, Oporto (1990); AIP - IV Painting and Sculpture Exhibition, Oporto (1991); Vila Nova de Cerveira - VII International Art Biennial (1992); Vila Nova de Gaia - Rotary Club Exhibition; Guest Artists at Le Cannet, France; Young Revelations 93; Oporto Arvore Cooperative BCM Prize (1993); Galeria Diagonal, Cascais (1995); Museu Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, Amarante (1997); Peregrinação Itinerância de Arte Portuguesa, Japan; Expo - 98 Pavilhão da Cruz Vermelha (1998); Cordeiros Galeria, Oporto (1999); Biblioteca Municipal, Santa Maria da Feira (2002); Casa da Cerca, Almada; Artistas Contemporâneos, Centro Cultural de Tavira (2003);
