Centro Português de Serigrafia presents the exhibition “Fado - Between Song and Story” by the Irish artist Maser, opening on Saturday, September 28th, at 5 PM, at the CPS Gallery in the Belém Cultural Center (CCB), in Lisbon.

Maser, a prominent figure in Dublin's cultural scene, is internationally recognized for his large-scale works and vibrant colors, as well as his involvement in humanitarian and solidarity causes. Having started in the graffiti world on the streets of Dublin at just 14 years old, the artist now exhibits in prestigious galleries such as Rhodes Contemporary Art and Lazarides Gallery, the gallery that represented Banksy. His collaborations include works with institutions such as the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, and even the Sydney Opera House and Wembley Stadium. To date, his work includes murals in various countries, including Ireland, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Uganda, the USA, and now also Portugal.

“Fado - Between Song and Story” presents the artist's new works created during his recent residency at CPS, including a limited edition serigraphy that inspired a five-meter mural in Alcântara.

Vibrant and with strong chromaticism, the new works are inspired by the city of Lisbon, its architecture, culture, and especially by Fado. During the creative process, Maser immersed himself in the sounds of Fado, letting himself be influenced by the melody and emotion of the voices, translating that experience into his geometric and dynamic compositions, some of which are unique pieces that combine serigraphy and painting.  

The exhibition, open until October 13th, invites you to closely explore Maser's work and discover Lisbon through his eyes.
