The Galeria António Prates and the Portuguese Screen Printing Center present two simultaneous exhibitions that aim to showcase the vast work of Andrés Alcántara, award-winning sculptor who also has a career in art. I developed a work of drawing, painting and engraving.

The exhibition “Alcántara Sculptor and Painter” will be on view. on display at Galeria António Prates, with whom the artist has worked since the beginning of the Gallery and where one of his most emblematic direct cut sculptures on black marble stands out, "The Warrior Monk" from 2000.< /p>

Through the same entrance door, but at the CPS Headquarters - Portuguese Screen Printing Center, the exhibition “Alcántara Engraver” brings together a set of works by different techniques, from drypoint to burin, which includes the pair of engravings that won theBest Engravings prize presented at the Estampa Art Fair in Madrid.

 The exhibitions remain open until the end of the year. June 8th and entry is free. free.

ANDRÉS ALCÁNTARA (Torredelcampo, Jaén) is a Spanish sculptor, painter and engraver. Lives and works in Alcalá of Henares, Madrid. He held his first solo exhibition in 1988, at Galeria E. Navarro, Madrid, having held many more, especially in Spain, France, Portugal and China. Participated in prestigious international collectives such as the Villa de Madrid Biennial; ARCO, Madrid; Estampa, Madrid; City Museum, in Madrid, and Santa Cruz Museum, in Toledo. In Portugal he exhibited at Galeria São Bento, Lisbon, at Galeria António Prates, Lisbon and edited graphic work at the Portuguese Screen Printing Center. Now He has been honored with different awards and is currently working on his career. represented in numerous and prestigious international collections.

The present exhibitions are part of a set of 4 exhibitions held in partnership with the Instituto Cervantes, motivated by the presentation on May 9th of the book "Bestiarius Stebanensis" by José Esteban and Andrés Alcántara, at the for sale at CPS. 
Also visit from the 9th of May to the 5th of July, the artist's two exhibitions at the Instituto Cervantes in Lisbon: “The Bestiás Drawings ;river Stebanensis” and “Cervantes and Quixote”.< /p>
