In the new facilities of the Portuguese Screen Printing Center at the Belém Cultural Center there is patent until August 31st, an exhibition of the Graphic Work of the architect and artist Le Corbusier (1887-1965), one of the great exponents of architecture and culture of the 20th century. The current exhibition reveals yet another aspect of the architect-artist's versatile talent. This exhibition includes the 1963 lithograph,"The Open Hand", considered one of his masterpieces, a synthesis of the plastic message that a few words clarify: "Recognize this open hand/ the open hand / raised as/ a sign of reconciliation/ open to receive/ open to give". A superb set of lithographs created in the last ten years of his life combines linear purification, movement and overlaps influenced by collage and cubism. The works presented are the result of the artist-architect's collaboration with Heidi Weber and were printed by the renowned French master, Fernand Mourlot. Heidi Weber, Le Corbusier's friend and gallerist, was the one who first produced his famous furniture and has been largely responsible for the dissemination of his Graphic Work, both in the Heidi Weber Museum - Switzerland , designed by the architect, or organizing exhibitions in more than 45 countries. This exhibition was held in collaboration with Galeria Aureus Fine Art – Switzerland and is It is valued in its exhibition with a frame also created by Le Corbusier. Each work is still accompanied by a certificate signed by Heidi Weber. The present exhibition of Le Corbusier's Graphic Work represents a unique opportunity to see or review less publicized aspects of his work, a plastic set of rare value, where the great coordinates that made him famous, both as an architect and as a painter.
