Silva Palmeira, about to complete 50 years of artistic life, was born in Santarém in 1934, painter, ceramist and sculptor, has been exhibiting since 1957 and has been working in art. represented in several national and foreign collections. About his journey, the painter said in the catalog text: "Travelling through spaces (...), with deep landscapes, where women are the main theme, whose blue is the touch for a language eminently planetary, where poetry and philosophy are tonal musicalities (...)" The woman, her plastic and symbolic universe, therefore has in her painting and in the current set of silkscreens a central place, in a figuration of well-defined shapes that the drawing highlights as well as the smooth and sweetly contrasting colors that also present his landscapes, in a symbiosis of poetics to which the writer Urbano Tavares was sensitive Rodrigues: "Dunes that are also women's bodies and women-statues and statues in the landscape. In landscapes of dreams or solitude, sometimes insistently unreal, sometimes of splendid desolation to the land." way of certain Hogan oils. (...) Surrealist trajectory has already emerged. through its faceted images, already in the research of collages with applications of different materials... with signs such as playing dice, the fall of cubes on an ocher background, the blonde face of a woman that is integrated into a geometric stone, smoothly cut like punches from statues. Sometimes we find the checkered green space of a mythical Castile, sometimes the grayish, rocky land, of a cubist derivation with fantastic volumes." The artist affirms in his work the importance of a look Nomad and passionate about the visible, in a sensual and rigorous language, which Lisbon often inspires. Everyday images transfigured by the play of light and shadows, by unusual perspective, by sober and harmonious colors. Well-defined forms that the design highlights, in a refined and geometric representation, a particular, poetic and labyrinthine vision of the city space. Plain and sweetly contrasting colors, with space for the emblematic blue , flow of gaze and dreams that cross time and shine in it for an instant.Fascinating game of playful reconstruction of aspects purified by the dialogue of architectural forms, by the play of lines, colors and spaces; os.
