Manuela Justino

Born in Castelo Novo / Castelo Branco. He attended the António Arroio School of Decorative Arts in Lisbon. In 1975 he graduated in Painting from the Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa. Since 1970, he has dedicated himself to the research and practice of tapestry. He created large-scale pieces, either on commission or in teaching practice with students. In 1971 he began his teaching career. In 1987 and 1988 she was seconded to the Ministry of Education - Integrated Education Resource Center, where she participated in projects for special education children. He held several individual and group exhibitions. He passed away in 2013. The Historic Village of Castelo Novo attributes its name to the village in his honor. Municipal Gallery, which was renamed Manuela Justino Art Gallery.
