Klaus Zylla

Born in Cottbus, Germany, in 1953. Between 1980 and 1982 he studied at the Berlin School of Arts. In 1986 he opened a screen printing workshop, having since carried out his work. several exhibitions. In 1993 he received the Art Prize from the Grundkredit Bank in Berlin. Currently, he shares his stay between Berlin and Reguendo Pequeno, in Portugal.

Klaus Zylla's works have a strong calligraphic component – both through the inclusion of texts and words and through the calligraphic way of painting and drawing – and are populated by hybrid and imaginary figures, often in a combination of animal forms, human forms or both.
