João Maio Pinto was born in Caramulo, in 1974.

He graduated in Communication Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto and, since then, he has developed a career as an illustrator and graphic designer, collaborating with several publications and publishers: Observer, Internazionale, Blitz, Silva!Designers, Público, Groovie Records, graphic M2, Rock Bar Sabotage, Abysmo, Terratreme, Equations/Lovers & Lollypops, among others.  É He is also a professor in the Design department at the Escola Superior de Artes e Design das Caldas da Rainha.
