Ivald Granato

Born in 1949 in Campos in the State of Rio de Janeiro and began studying arts in his hometown.

In 1966 he studied with Robert Newman and a year later he entered the School of Fine Arts at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. É is a multidisciplinary artist who has developed work in several areas: performance, illustration, scenography, graphic work, public work such as panel painting, painting and sculpture.

He won several awards, including in 1990, the best Illustrator of the Year, by Editora Abril and the following year the Acquisition Award for the painting “Atakem” in 1ª Osaka Triennial, Japan. In 2002 he was honored in his hometown for the extensive and diverse work carried out in 35 years of artistic activity.
