António Viana

Born in Coimbra in 1947, António Viana is a plastic artist and museographer.

He often works in the direction and plastic conception of exhibitions, e.g. Madrid - Teatros del Canal, Exhibition "FADO" and Paris - UNESCO - Exhibition held as part of the candidacy of Fado to Intangible Heritage of Humanity, both in 2011.

He has held several solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions, such as: "Personages and Reliefs", National Society of Fine Arts, Lisbon (2006) and BPSM, Paris (2001); "15 Years, 15 Artists" - IPOR, Macau Museum, Macau (2005) and "A Modern Art Medals Retrospective", Amsterdam (1998). He has participated in Biennial Exhibitions and Art Meetings in Portugal and abroad.

In 2012 he was named "Author of the Year" in the category of Plastic Arts by the Portuguese Society of Authors. 

He is represented in several private and institutional collections.
