FRANK MEYER: ART TO THE RHYTHM OF JAZZ

Frank Meyer, born in Canada, initially self-taught, took up his art and training in this field, after a long career as a Video Director and after the great success he had with his first solo show, in 2005. He then dedicated himself to art. collage, combining different elements and materials, and using previously painted pieces of paper taken from magazines and books, in a creative process involving a good dose of improvisation that the artist compares to Jazz music. For these works he was awarded the “Best in Paper” award, at the 60th edition of the 20th edition. anniversary of the “Toronto Outdoor Fair” In this screen print, the very bright colors and a solar atmosphere evoke the city of Lisbon that inspired it. On the other hand, the fragmented composition and an abstract iconography with resonances of the visible refer to collage and Miró´´s lesson; and Kandinsky, two of the founders of contemporary art.
