The Carpe Diem Art and Research< /span> (CDAP) opens on September 19th the exhibition of the works of the selected candidates of the Millennium Young Art Competition-Prize bcp 2019. The Jury of this edition - made up of Daniel Silvo González, Cristiana Tejo and Gwen Farrelly – selected, from among 105 applications received,ten artists to present their pieces.

The exhibition will take place at the Headquarters of the Portuguese Screen Printing Center which, as a partner, hosted this initiative, the place where the winners of the two awards will also be determined Young Art 2019.

The competition aims to publicize the proposals of artists who have just entered the world of art, contributing to a broader vision of national artistic production, as well as creating the opportunity to carry out a first work presentation exhibition, with respective curatorial monitoring, sales and catalogue. É It is therefore possible to propose a more competitive dynamic between schools and the art market, creating new possibilities for acquisition by collectors and investors in new artists.

 The first prize will be a residency at Atelier Solar in Madrid and the second prizewill be; an artistic residency at the Portuguese Screen Printing Center, where the awardee will delve deeper into the subject matter. questions related to the various printing techniques.

 The 2019 edition award is supported by theFundação Millennium bcp and the Centro Portuguâs de Seriografia.

 

The artists selected for the exhibition of the 2019 National Young Art Competition-Prize are:

Fábio Colaço (FBAUL), Poliana de la Barba (FBAUP), Fátima Frade (Ar.Co ), Fábio Araújo (FBAUP),José Sottomayor (FBAUL), Rodrigo Rosa (ARCO) Maria Bernardino (ESAD-CALDAS DA RAINHA), Manuel Fonseca (FBAUL) , Joana Aparício Tejo (FBAUL), Axelle Camille (ESAD-CALDAS DA RAINHA).

 

CDAP launched, for the first time in 2016, the national Young Art competition aimed at students of visual arts courses who are finalists or who have completed the courses in the previous two years.

The CPS awarded in the 2018 edition - the first year in which it became a partner - the artist Beatriz Coelho, whose residence at Atelier CPS resulted in the work recently presented "Tick Tack (Slowness)", a silkscreen edition intervened with painting and collage.
