Born in Lisbon in 1959, he graduated from the Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa during the 1980s. In 1984, he joined, together with Fernando Brito, Ivo, Manuel João Vieira, Pedro Portugal and Pedro Proença, the Homeostética group, recently the subject of an exhibition at the Serralves Museum.
