Born on the Island of Santa Maria, Azores, in 1951. In 1984 he completed his degree in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon. He also attended the Model Drawing course at the National Society of Fine Arts and the Metal Engraving course at Casa das Artes de Tavira. Between 1997 and 1999 he was responsible for the studio. of Plastic Arts at the Galamares Drug Addict Recovery Clinic and between 1995 and 2000 she was a member of the Board of Directors at Galeria Diferença, in Lisbon, and professor of Engraving at the same Gallery. In 2000, he received the 1.º Artistic Creation Award. His artistic work also extends to the scope of engraving, illustration and cinema.
