Maria Bouza

Born in Lisbon in 1983. She grew up with the determination to want to be an architect, and for that reason she entered the Faculty of Architecture of Lisbon in 2002. But it was the experience with children in plastic expression studios, combined with the influence of her mother's collection of children's books, which made her switch gears and move to Barcelona in 2006 to study illustration ;O. He attended the Joso, Massana and Espai Francesca Bonnemaizon schools, building an enriching career that gave him close contact with the world of illustration. Still in Barcelona, she begins working as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. 

In 2012 he returned to Lisbon, and since then already You had the opportunity to produce work that combines illustration with graphic design in different media. Among others, he regularly collaborates with Hot Clube de Portugal and with prestigious jazz musicians, in the creation of posters and CDs. He created illustrations for the Presidency of the Republic, FNAC, publishing house Colibrí, Diário de Noticias, Municipal Chamber of Barreiro and Egeac.

Recently took the Children's Book course at Bookoffice run by children's book writer Carla Maia de Almeida. In 2015 he presented his first illustrated album in co-authorship with the writer Manuela Castro Neves and is currently working on it. Currently preparing the second book by Máquina de Voar.

Now He exhibited his illustrations in group exhibitions in Spain and Portugal. In 2013 he presented his first solo exhibition entitled “Folha a Folha” in Lisbon.
