Francisco Ferro

Born in 1954, in the Alentejo village of Ourique, Portugal. He studied Decorative Painting at the António Arroio School of Decorative Arts and graduated in Painting from FBAL.

In his recent works there is; a return to figuration, to so-called traditional artistic drawing. In fact, the works from the 90s onwards began to live increasingly between the figuration/abstraction dichotomy, through the contrast between a meticulous drawing of the figures and the treatment almost random color, translated by ink stains.

Currently, he lives in Amadora and works artistically as a painter and engraver.

Exhibits individually and collectively since 1975.

He held 16 solo exhibitions and participated in more than one hundred group shows.

It is represented in museums, institutions and national and foreign collections.
